Tarot readings

Tarot cards are an ancient system of divination and esoteric knowledge. A typical tarot deck, of which there are hundreds of varieties, contains 78 cards: 22 major arcana, and 56 suit cards (14 in each suit, or element: swords, disks or coins, wands, and cups, corresponding to air, earth, fire, and water). The major arcana represent archetypes, like the Empress, the Moon, High Priestess, or the Fool, to name a few. The suit cards, like a regular playing card deck, are numbered one through ten, and have a king, queen, knight (prince), and page (princess).

The reader will have you select a certain number of cards, and will then set them out in a particular layout. There are many layouts, and every reader has their favorites. Each position in the layout pertains to a particular aspect of a question, or life period or event of the sitter. The cards are then read, or interpreted, using each card’s meaning and position; taken together they tell a story. The reader will ask the sitter if the information makes sense, and will take any questions you have about the reading.
